About me….

I’m a forest ecologist and climate campaigner who’s spent more than a decade building campaigns that win protection for Tasmania’s forests. With a PhD from the University of Tasmania, I blend science with grassroots organising, sharp media strategy and policy advocacy to turn big ideas into real-world outcomes.

For the past ten years, I’ve co-founded and led The Tree Projects, where I’ve worked across everything from research and communications to fundraising and community mobilisation. One of my proudest wins was helping protect the Grove of Giants: an extraordinary stand of old-growth forest that was slated for logging in 2023. By bringing together science, storytelling and people power, we turned the Grove into a major public issue, getting more than a thousand people into the forest and ultimately securing its protection.

My work is grounded in solid research and a passion for making science clear and accessible. My Tasmanian Forest Carbon reports helped reveal that native forest logging is the state’s largest source of emissions, shifting the conversation on forests and climate. Over the past five years, I’ve produced more than ten reports to support smarter advocacy.

I’m also a co-founder of the Tasmanian Climate Collective, helping build a powerful grassroots network driving climate action across the state. At the heart of it all, I bring together science, community and campaigning. I help to build alliances, empower people, and create movements that protect forests and drive real climate action.
